I finished this kit a
little while ago but with redesigning the site and all I did not get round
to doing the review. So here it is.
This Kit I believe was designed by Derek Holmes and a lovely job of it he
has made too. The fit was particularly good round the arm areas with no
filler being used. I only used a small wipe of filler to the main body join.
The overall scale and proportion of the kit is nice. The only problem I
had was the lance, which I think with hindsight I should have drilled out
the hand and put a one-piece shaft as oppose to the two pieces supplied
by the kit. I didn't want to paint Roger so in an old magazine I found a
reference to the Battle of Falkirk with the Heraldry of the major players
in it and chose a gent called Nicholas De Seagrave.
Also in the article was a comment that they often only wore heraldry on
their Surcoats for battle so I went with that rather than have to pint the
heraldry on the surcoat .The figure was painted oils over enamels and took
roughly 4 weeks but I do work on two at a time so they don't get my undivided
attention.
An altogether enjoyable kit I would recommend to all.
