This is an excellent figure, full of character. The pose is very well done and the anatomy is of a tall, long-legged man, which is just right for Edward Longshanks.

The face cupped in his left hand is particularly convincing. Detail is crisp, although the crown, whilst acceptable, was less well cast in my example with the detail a little soft in places.

The figure is in eight pieces plus a cast base. The legs, arms and body are all cast in one piece with the skirts of the cloak to be added in two pieces. The only thing to note is that the skirts of the cloak needed a little filler where they joined the waist and it's important to fit the sword to the figure before glueing the right hand in place.

Also, so much detail is visible under the cloak that it's really necessary to paint the legs and inside of the cloak before attaching the skirts to the body. Overall, despite it's apparent simplicity, some thought is needed to construction and painting.

I painted the figure using artists acrylics and Andrea acrylics for the cloak and the shield..
