Well, this is my first full figure since diving into the historical figure world a few months ago. This was also my first metal model so it took some getting use to but after the shock wore off I came to realize I had a nice little figure in my hands.

The pose is captured as the knight ascends a flight of stone stairs. Its kind of an awkward pose because if you don't trim the excess metal out of the mounting hole correctly the figure looks like he's about to topple over backwards, but I have to admit I like this much better than the standard parade rest and attention poses you see all the time. The fit of the rest of the kit was trouble free and went together nicely. One word of warning though, be sure to pin the kit to the base.

The figure is only attached to the base by one foot with the other in the air. I bent him inadvertantly and it took a while to get him straight. I'm learning this metal stuff by trial and error I guess :)

The detail on this kit is fantastic. The mail is nicely done and the shield is great. It leaves a lot of options open for shield design and heraldry. The face could've been a little better, its nice but is lacking character in my opinion. Luckily this is mostly hidden by the nasal guard of the conical helmet.
All in all, this is a nice kit and is a must have for fans of the Norman Knights. It makes a tough looking figure and the pose is refreshing. I also like the choice of the battle axe in hand rather than the typical sword. Nice little k
it.
